MANZANAS

From First Grade to Your Table

Manzanas began as a simple first-grade classroom project. I fell completely in love with the process and the incredible smell of sweet cooked apples, prompting me to ask my teacher for the secret recipe configuration.

From that moment on, it became a sacred tradition. Every single single holiday season, my mom and I would fill our home with the unforgettable, comforting aromas of slow-simmered spices and fresh apples. To us, that scent represents absolute warmth, family comfort, and winter peace.

"The smell of fresh-baked sweets, whether it be pies, cookies, or jams, brings a certain type of irreplaceable warmth into a home."

After putting the recipe aside during early adulthood, the tradition was reborn when my own children reached school age. I began crafting tiny individual jars with each classmate's name printed on them as holiday gifts. When school families tasted it, they insisted it was too good to keep hidden—urging me to bring this tradition to local farmers markets.

Today, every jar of Manzanas honors that original recipe, featuring hand-selected heirloom apples exclusively grown on local farms right here in Johnstown, Ohio.
